BASS DRUM OF DEATH, apart from having the best band name were the best band I had never seen before. They kicked the hell out of my puny pathetic eardrums. They are 100%.

After Bass Drum, I headed to The SHOP, for the sold out BEACH FOSSILS show. Awesome dreamgazeyspacefuzz NYC band.

And last night I was again at The SHOP for YOUNG PRISMS ( damn fine, so damn loud) and one of California's love children THE FRESH & ONLYS. Holy High Hell, that band is great. GREAT. SO different from when they played here last with THEE OH SEES last summer. It sounds like they managed to navigate the havoc of time travel to check out what their grandparents "grooving out" to on the beaches way back when. And made it back to tell the story. Check out the latest record Play It Strange out on In The Red. Ah yes, and the drummer is a total goddamn babe.
