1/2 YEAR UPDATE

New/s :

-The gallery show I was in was a total success! "VACANT STARES" at Galerie SAW Gallery in Ottawa, ON ruled so hard. All the photographers involved were total sweethearts and supremely talented. Pregnancy Scares, METZ, and the Men played the opening party on June 13th, as part of the Ottawa Explosion weekend. Special thanx to Paul Galipeau, Luke Nuclear and the Hanlons. SO FUN!

There are 4 prints still available from the show, email ivy@ivylovell.com for details.

-Coming next month: "TIME OUT" 2012. New work from The League showing at Pure Prime Laboratory (140 Hepbourne St, my new house) with a BBQ and day show style party. 1 band TBA! More detail real soon, I promise...

- Backup singing with the wonderful Jess Nicolette in The Sphinxs! Comes a time...

BURNING LOVE-THE DIRTBOMBS-ERICA + IVY

Burning Love @ the Velvet Underground. This was their last show for awhile!

The Dirtombs @ The Horseshoe.
"Party Store" is weird and sounds weird live, but in the end it's the Dirtbombs, so what the fuck ever, correct?

The ever wonderful Erica Beyea (owner and teacher at Fine Oak Art School) and I spent a night at my parents cottage in the Kawarthas. Summer Bliss.

TORONTO THAW THAW'D TORONTO

Toronto is a great city. The bands in it are great and the friends too. Telephone Explosion is a damned great label, and they put on the most fun festival to date. Every band that matters played over 3 days at 3 different venues. It was like a punch to the feeble throat of CMW. It was truly a weekend of all weekends.

Welcome to spring in the city, boys and girls.

Oh yeah, check out this EYE WEEKLY article about the festival that Rich Trapunski wrote. They don't like to "do" photo credits, but those are mine if you couldn't tell. Except the last one of METZ, that's David Waldman's.
