THE GREENHORNES @ the HORSESHOE TAVERN

Goddamn- I said GODDAMN- I love the Greenhornes. It's been a long long time ( 4 years?) since they played Toronto, and I've seen them in many other cities other than home- it was nice to have a total travel time of less than 30 minutes to see them. Packed show at the (legendary?) horseshoe tavern, and some serious fans who traveled from Peterborough to see the band.

For my money, it all came down to Jack Lawrence singing Go Tell Henry, off the new record "****". Weird, moody, psych-y and heavy all in that order.

Can't wait to see them boys again.

SXSW 2011!

Holy Moley! How much fun was this year? SO MUCH FUN!

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
-Free tacos and whiskey in the Canada Blast thing
-The geode store beside the Cracker Barrel
-The Grassy Knoll!
-Tequila & Red Bull/Bud Lite Lime
-Thee Oh Sees preforming Warm Slime!!
-Getting the number of a cabbie who picked up back up from the Spider House, blasting hip hop out his car windows, loving life SO MUCH
-Toy Joy (AKA Best Toy Store in the world!)
-Running into so many friends from everywhere, and new friends HEAVY CREAM and PHILLY!
-4am swimming ( more like dunking) in a posh pool, losing Scott, wandering around with Alex
-Ty Segall dedicating his Panache showcase show to Mark Pesci!!
-How many incredible NASHVILLE bands there were down there
-The insanity of Texarcana
-The Best Show Gems on the ride home
